Solvang School’s 8th Annual Golf Tournament at the River Course at the Alisal. The community is invited to participate either to play, or become a major sponsor, tee sponsor, family sponsor, donate a raffle item or come to the barbecue. This event has been extremely successful in raising funds to support updated computer technology for Solvang School students and teachers. Check-in and putting contest begin at 12 p.m., shotgun start is at 1 p.m., and the event culminates with a barbecue at 5 p.m. and awards ceremony and raffle. $85 per player includes 18 holes and golf cart. $20/plate for barbecue. Windchimes: An Earthday craft with Pamela Zwehl-Burke at 2 p.m. at Solvang Branch Library. Using natural materials, participants will construct fantastic chimes for hanging outdoors, where the wind will continue your Earthday celebration year round. Event is free to the public and community, The series will include four competition classes to include: open, non pro, non pro limited, and greener than grass. Los Alamos Chair Faire from 10 a.m-4 p.m. We line up all and any kind of chairs along the sidewalk for a chair show and sale. Prizes and musical chairs, too. There are three categories for the sculptures of chairs: 1) Indoor, 2) Outdoor, and 3) Repeating Object Designs. There will be entry forms for the chair sculptures, commitment due by June 30 with entry fee of $10.
