The Santa Ynez Valley Christian Academy School gave thanks Friday by preparing lunch for the seniors from the Solvang Senior Center.A traditional Thanksgiving dinner, er, lunch — roasted turkey, mashed potatoes, green beans, Jell-O and pumpkin pie — was served to seniors. The multipurpose room was filled with holiday decorations and art work.

Cheril Magallanes, the school’s secretary, organized the event. The seniors enjoyed the delicious feast along with the company of the students all dressed up in their Thanksgiving attire. “It was most enjoyable, and being around young people was inspirational” said Betty Brazil, one of the lunch guests.
