New daycare to open

WEV schedules orientations

Women’s Economic Ventures will hold training orientations in Santa Maria. The orientation explains more about WEV’s 14-week course on entrepreneurship and is a prerequisite to attend the course.

The orientations are scheduled for 6–7 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 6; Wednesday, Jan. 14; Tuesday, Jan. 20; Wednesday, Jan 28; and Tuesday, Feb. 3.

Sebastiani bought by Foley

Sebastiani Vineyards in Sonoma was bought by the Foley Wine Group of Los Olivos on Dec. 22. Included in the purchase was two office buildings, the historic tasting room and event center in downtown Sonoma, and 225 acres of vineyards, according to a press release.

Sebastiani has a permitted production facility with a 1 million case capacity, according to the press release put out by PR Newswire.

Foley Wine Group, founded by Bill Foley, chairman of Fidelity National Title, now owns eight vineyards: Foley Estates Vineyard and Winery, Firestone Vineyards, Lincourt Vineyards in Solvang, Goodnight Cellars in Los Olivos, Merus in Napa, Three Rivers Winery in Washington and Altus in Arkansas. 

 

YMCA open house slated

The Stuart C. Gildred Family YMCA will host a weeklong, free open house January 5–11 at 900 N. Refugio Road in Santa Ynez.
